The big Dane grinned, and nodded in pleased satisfaction, as if agreeing with Lucretzia. After all, she could very well be right. Her brother seemed to have been the one to provide for both of them.
"Well, what are friends for, after all?" he asked, looking around. He didn't see any signs of a church nearby, but that didn't mean there wasn't one. The steeple might have fallen off, after all. This whole town was in pretty rough shape.
"You're in the Collar Clan, right? Or perhaps the Crystal Guard? I don't like fighting so I didn't join them..."
Ah, he'd wondered when she might ask that question. It would be simple to lie, but it wouldn't be hard to uncover such a lie. No, he'd have to be clever. But before he could say anything, another young dog made an appearance, calling to them, and running over before introducing himself. Perfect timing.
"Well, Lucky Jr., it's a pleasure to meet you," he said. More than you know... "My name is Oni, and this little angel is Lucretzia."
While he had no idea who Lucky was, he did recognize the obvious pride this pup had in his father. Interesting. Maybe he'd be able to gain this one's trust, as well.
Another pup, pudgy in size sniffed around. She had been in the streets for a while trying to figure out where she was. Already she had believed somebody had dognapped her from the farm but if she was then where was the dognapper in question? or for that matter where were the humans? Beyonca didn't want to be afraid but the two-toned Dalmatian knew something was wrong as she hadn't found any human scents around or for that matter any animal scent around either. That was till she caught a scent and began to follow it before she noticed a large spotted Great Dane, she gulped a bit at the sight of the much larger dog and wondered what she should do.
That was before she caught another canine scent, this one from the other pup nearby. To Beyonca she looked new as she looked around. "Um hello?" She spoke up to the two canines hoping to gather their attentions. That was before she caught a third scent, one familiar to her. "That scent..... Lucky?? That you??" she barked catching her brother's scent
"'Yonca?" Lucky couldn't help but turn at the sound of the familiar voice. His eyes widened and mouth dropped open at the sight of none other than his own sister, running towards him. "Yonca where have you been? How did you get here?! I've been so worried." He met her halfway, nuzzling her face tenderly with his own. "I just woke up in this strange place and I thought ... how did you get here?" He asked again, suddenly very puzzled. He thought he'd been alone in waking up in this strange new place, but now his sister was here too.. did that mean that his other siblings were here as well?
I see trees of green,
red roses too.
I see them bloom,
for me and you.
And I think to myself,
what a wonderful world....
Lucretzia grinned, tail wagging brightly as the newcomers approached. "Oh wonderful! New friends!" She pushed towards Lucky Jr and Beyonca, the unknown scent of the fox on the air brushing past her unsophisticated nose. At least by Lucretzia's nose, Fern would go undetected.
"My name is Lucretzia," she said, "Hi! Salutations!" She planted her rear on the ground, tilting her head towards Oni.
"We were just about to get out of the rain and hopefully find a church! Or a candy store if we're lucky! I don't have any money but Oni says it's alright if we don't pay."
Beyonca looked at her brother as she heard his questions. "Same thing happened to me too, I was asleep one moment and next thing I know I'm here, I had thought somebody pupnapped me but I didn't see anybody around, then again I didn't smell any human scents around either. Good thing I caught your scent and everybody else's scents too." Beyonca told her brother before she faced Lucretzia "Nice name." she said to Lucretzia "Candy store sounds fun, hope we find something in it if we find one." the two-toned pup said to Lucretzia hearing of their plans.
Least she felt safer knowing she was among friends and family.
Oni almost smirked when another pup showed up. It was all still too easy. Not one of them suspected his allegiance, or his motivations. As he watched the two Dalmatians talk, he caught a brief glimpse of the creeping fox. His eyes narrowed slightly in thought. Hmm. For now, he wouldn't say anything, or pay the fox any mind.
"Yes, come and join us. The more the merrier," he said. He looked around, wondering where they might find either a church or candy store. While either one would do, the candy store was starting to sound like the better option. "I don't think any human had anything to do with bringing us here. If you were both asleep, you must have missed the flash."
Lucky Jr tilted his head as he listened to the other three dogs speak, a curious blank expression on his face. "Huh.." He decided to respond to Lucretzia first. "Lucretz..." He honestly found her name hard to pronounce. "...Is it ok if I call you Lucy?" Smile appeared and tail wagged slightly at the sound of a candy store. "Hey that sounds fun!! Besides only humans pay money for stuff." He turned to Lucretzia, bright smile still there.
Still, smile faded as he wondered again about how he ended up here, and Oni's curious words. Especially about a flash. "Huh...did you see a flash?" He asked Oni, peering curiously up at the much larger dog. "Cuz I sure didn't. But...then again I was asleep." He closed his eyes, smiling sheepishly. "Anyway let's go find a candy store!! And let's make a race out of it!" He jumped to his feet, tail wagging. "First one there gets the first piece!! Well...then again maybe we should all get some...uhh, maybe the first person to find one gets the first piece? Then the rest of us get candy?" He offered a tentative smile and then backtracked, showing an obvious hint of his mother's indecisiveness. "Orrr we could all get candy at the same time, uh...whatever you guys think is best. Or maybe what I think is best. I don't know." He donned another sheepish smile.
I see trees of green,
red roses too.
I see them bloom,
for me and you.
And I think to myself,
what a wonderful world....
Beyonca looked up at the Great Dane as he mentioned the flash of light, the two-toned pup tilted her head "I didn't see a flash either, but then again I was asleep like my brother said just now." Beyonca added on showing just as much indecisiveness that her brother was showing just now. Though the idea of a race would be fun though the idea of whom would get the first piece made her think about it as well. "Well I think it would be more fair to get candy all at once, but then again maybe the first there should get first crack at the candy." Beyonca said to her brother as she looked back at Lucretzia and Oni wondering if they had anything to add on.
Lucretzia nodded. Eager to please, the rose colored pup smirked at Lucky Jr. "Sure thing!" She said, "It's okay. Some people can't say it. I couldn't say it for a while, y'know when I was a few weeks old." Her brother and her had only known their names because of the engravings on their collars. Even though Azazel had discarded his long ago. Her tail wagged at the prospect of a race. The friendless pup was always up for a game.
"Oh a race? What fun! May we race, please oh please? My brother was always afraid I'd get hurt. I've never been in a race before!" She blinked at Lucky Jr, smiling brightly. "Shall we race?"
Oni just shrugged. If they hadn't seen the flash for themselves, he wouldn't try to describe it to them. As it was, they didn't seem interested, anyways. Especially not when a race was suggested.
"A race, hmm? To where? We can start here, but we need a finish line. Or are we simply racing to find a candy store?" he asked, stretching his long legs, debating whether or not to push himself as hard as he could, or not. As long as his legs were, his strides would be far longer than the rest of the dogs here. But, Lucretzia was of a breed built for speed. Hmm. He'd have to see what happened when their race started.
Beyonca looked over at Lucretzia again and took notice of her cross tag on her collar "Hey, that is a nice tag you got on your collar." the two-toned Dalmatian told Lucretzia. Looking up at Oni she nodded "Yeah, and I bet I can win too." She said with her tail wagging, her father Lucky's confidence showing in her as she was confident she could beat her brother and her new friends in a race though Oni did look like he'd be fast though he did look heavier than the pups. Then again she knew Lucretzia could be fast since she looked to be half Whippet and she knew those breed of dogs were bred to be fast.
